The Registrar is responsible for registration of all births and deaths that occur in the Town of Bethel. The records begin in 1887 (some have been certified by affidavit for earlier years). Records can also be requested by going to www.vitalchek.com for divorce decrees, birth, death and marriage for all US States.
It is the responsibility of the Registrar to maintain strict confidentially regarding birth and death records. Request for copies should be done with the requestor's identification, or a written notarized request from a direct relative (spouse, father, mother, son, daughter), from an Attorney or by Court Order.
The cost of each certified copy is $10.00. Please complete the appropriate application listed below. Forms can be emailed with I.D. and payment can be made over the phone. Certificates can not be faxed or emailed.
